We’re hiring! Foodbank Director

24th October 2019

If you are passionate about crisis food provision and the broader causes of poverty and hunger, we want to hear from you.

Established in 2013 and affiliated to the Trussell Trust, we have a great team of staff, volunteers and trustees and enjoy a high profile and goodwill across the county.

We have now secured a grant to part-fund a new management position.  The right person will be able to develop our staff and volunteers to ensure that we provide the gold standard of emergency food provision to all our clients, without judgement or prejudice.  This crisis service is the heart of what we do and our new Foodbank Director will ensure that the charity can operate on a firm financial footing in order to do so.  But this role requires more than sound day-to-day charity management and securing income; the Foodbank is keen to take a step change by developing “more than food” projects which tackle the root causes of food insecurity.  The new Foodbank Director will be expected to take a strategic lead in business planning and to actively shape how East Lothian responds to poverty and hunger, with the ultimate aim of reducing the need for food parcels.

Hours: Full time 35hrs per week

Salary: £27,000 to £30,000
