We're powered by a brilliant team of volunteers, and we couldn't do what we do without them!

Giving time every week to help in the warehouse, deliver parcels, collect donations, tend to our allotment, help at supermarket collections and so much more.

We have so many varied volunteer roles available at the foodbank, see below for more information.

Driven by a shared sense of justice and compassion, our volunteers help provide emergency food and support to local people across the county who’ve been referred to us in crisis.

Our volunteers are an amazing, diverse group of people who give us an incredible amount of their valuable time and skills. They inspire us with their enthusiasm, generosity and compassion, motivating us to achieve more.

There are lots of different ways to get involved and we want you to enjoy volunteering for us. Whatever role you choose, you will make a real difference to the life of someone in crisis.

Volunteer opportunities at East Lothian Foodbank

Foodbank centre volunteer

From sorting and weighing donations, making up and labeling parcels for clients, meeting those dropping off donations and meeting clients or administrative support there's a wide range of hands-on roles for volunteers based in the foodbank.

Delivery driver volunteers

We cover the whole of East Lothian and often our clients are not able to come to the foodbank to pick up their food parcels.

Would you be happy to go out and deliver food parcels to our clients?

Limited time?

You can still help on an ad hoc basis. We hold regular supermarket collections throughout the year and need a large number of people to support these. Most people volunteer for about 2 hours and maybe once or twice a year.
