We're powered by a brilliant team of volunteers, and we couldn't do what we do without them!

Giving time every week to help in the warehouse, deliver parcels, collect donations, tend to our allotment, help at supermarket collections and so much more. Driven by a shared sense of justice and compassion, our volunteers help provide emergency food and support to local people across the county who’ve been referred to us in crisis.

Short on time?

We would still appreciate your help on an ad hoc basis.  We hold regular supermarket collections throughout the year and need a large number of volunteers to support these. Most people volunteer for 2 hours and maybe once or twice a year. To find out when our next supermarket collection is, please get in touch.

Interested in joining our team, here are our current opportunities.

Delivery Volunteer 

East Lothian Foodbank provides emergency food parcels to local people in crisis. Many of these parcels need to be delivered and our volunteer drivers play a vital role in helping us reach those who need support. We’re looking for volunteer drivers available weekdays between 12pm and 3pm to help deliver food parcels across the county.

Welcome Volunteers

We’re creating a more people-centred and welcoming Foodbank experience, including new ‘pick your own’ food sessions and a low-cost food club. As a Welcome Volunteer, you’ll be one of the first friendly faces visitors meet, helping create a warm environment, chatting with visitors and signposting to additional support where needed.

Warehouse Volunteers

Warehouse Volunteers play a vital role in helping East Lothian Foodbank run smoothly. You’ll help sort, check and pack food donations, manage stock and prepare emergency food parcels for people in crisis as part of a friendly and supportive team.
